about

playing this song makes me feel like i'm back in the 70s. remember the 70s? mirror balls, leisure suits, hairy chests decorated with gold-linked monstrosities....oh, not THAT 70s. sorry...

i'm a big fan of how mitch plays his part during the verses. it's not the same as the drum performance on the original recording, but i certainly don't have a problem with his interpretation. in fact, i like it much better than what is found on the original. kudos mitch; y'dun gude!

my goal during the solo was to make it more lyrical and "classic" to fit the overall vibe. i really tried to hold back and show some restraint, and it took all the strength i could muster to not release the chaos (not to be confused with the kaoss, which reappears in the next song). eventually it was all I could stands, and i can't stands no more! thus, the solo's ending flurry of bombast...

the outro feels so rawk to me. it makes me smile. insert pyro and cavernous stadium reverb on the last note, and maybe we'd give gene & paul a run for their money. my guess, however, is that gene's money would not be out in the open as to be able to dash away (dash away, dash away all). now where's that make-up remover...
