about

an abrupt switch in tone and feel brings us to "redemption song".this is probably our straight-ahead "rock" number, and it usually gets heads a-bobbin'. my favorite part of the entire performance is at the 2:43 mark. it's so rawk!

other things that stand out:
- i enjoy the "i'm going to make my presence felt and obliterate everything in my path" flanger effect on the guitar, especially at the end where definition of actual notes goes to the wayside.
- doug usually sings harmony live, but he and i flip roles on this song: he goes with the upper melody while i with the lower harmony. it saves my voice (especially since there are more songs to go), and i think he sounds great on it.
- if you listen closely, you might here me ditch the slide after the quite guitar solo by dropping it to the ground followed by it rolling across the floor into an abyss of cords and chaos.

this is song two of a three-song suite from my album "songs for the phonophobic" as these are the first three songs in order on said album. i like how they work together...wash, rinse, repeat.
