eris is a dwarf planet in our solar system. i thought it was a good title for this track. kinda spacey...

i commonly create a soundscape to lead into "alkaline" when performing live, and this is what occurred the night of this recording. i love making this stuff (chalk it up to the influence of robert fripp). in fact, a soundscape of some nature appears on each of my solo albums:

particleWorld - "lost in vector 11"
[the red album] - intro to "blacken the sky"
balance - "arbor (the letter)"
songs for the phonophobic - "9:35 am"

any now i can add "eris" to the list. it's like the addition of a new family member. we can spoil her since she's the baby of the family. until the next one comes. then middle-child-syndrome will set in. poor, poor girl...
